Five For Friday +1 11/20/15

Written by Katie. Posted in Five For Friday

Whew. This was a LONG week. I definitely overbooked myself, but at least I got a lot done. Now, I rest and recover before the holiday rush begins…and remind myself of the P word…PACING.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. They moved! The new facility is beautiful and HUGE. Looking forward to getting stronger in my new PT “home.”
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. Treadmill walking on a higher incline, plus floor strengthening.
  • My acupuncture needles from last Tuesday fell out this past Tuesday. Pretty good when they stay in a full week.
  • I had my yearly gyno appointment. All the lady stuff checked out well.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I had my monthly appointment with Larry. I went in to my appointment in tears. I knew I had to get through parent-teacher conferences and I was feeling a mix of sickness and pain. I believe my words to Larry were, “Whatever magic you can do, please do it on me today.”And he did. Between stomach acupuncture, cranial OMM, and putting my ribs back in place, I was in much better shape leaving his office than coming.  Thankful.
  • A lot of neck and head pain this week. I had to wear my neck collar to get through my  home rehab work, but the important thing is I did it.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. A fellow zebra has begun therapy where I go, and I had the chance to speak to her Mom on Tuesday. It is amazing thing when you experience the fact that listening can be the greatest gift of all.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.   It was one of those weeks where there was some major self-talk needed. But in the end, I knew it has to be non-negotiable…so I got off my booty and put one foot in front of the other.
  • I saw Dr. Rosen, my shrink on Thursday. I had an ah-ha. And tears. and then a weight lifted. Taking care of your mental well being is so important, friends. I cannot say it enough.
  • I napped two days this week! Woot!
