Just a "zebra" trying my best to live life to the fullest with EDS and POTS...and loving the ride.

Philadelphia

Written by Katie. Posted in Family

As you know, my Mom and I traveled to Philly April 5-9 to visit my older sister, Kristen, my brother-in-law, Jake, and my niece Cecilia.  The pictures I am posting pretty much sum up the trip.  We spent most of the time at Kristen and Jake’s house just hanging out, which is just what the doctor ordered.

On Wednesday and Thursday Kristen and Jake had to work so my Mom and I got to be Cece’s “daycare.”  So tiring, but so FUN.  On Friday, Kristen took the day off and Allie drove from Maryland for the day.  So what do you think the five of us girls did?  Lunch and shopping of course!  Saturday, it was already time to go back to Michigan. The trip went so fast.

Happy Birthday to the love of my life, Brad!  If there was a trophy for “husband of the year,” you would win it without a doubt!  I love you more everyday and thank my lucky stars that I found you to share my life with! You mean the world to me and I love you with all of my heart!

(I won’t reveal your age but the title may give it away 🙂

Andy\’s Weekend

Written by Katie. Posted in Family

Andy leaves March 16th for basic training for 9 weeks and then Officer Candidate School for 12 weeks in Fort Benning, Georgia.  I am so, so proud of Andy?, and all of his hard work, dedication, and commitment to join the Army.  Since he was 18 he talked about joining the military, but decided he would pursue a degree in kineseology first at MSU.  After graduating, becoming an Officer Candidate became even more of a passion of his and he aggressively and successfully pursued this career path.

I will miss him so much.  Out of my three siblings he has been the one who has stayed close.  I made him promise he would write me, and he made me promise I would not send him “those talking cards” because he doesn’t want to get beat up. 🙂
