Walk On

Music.  Relationships.

Relationships.  Music.

These are the two things that have gotten me through this past year without going crazy.  These are the two things that I lean on heavily everyday for my survival.  For my sanity.  For my motivation and inspiration.  For my Faith.

I could write for hours and hours about both of these topics, and as I continue to blog, I know that they will keep surfacing as major players in my life.  U2 is something I have been meaning to write about since I saw them in concert at Spartan Stadium a little over a week ago.  It is funny because the first 27 years of my life, I liked U2.  They made up a chunk of my running playlist.  I would watch some of their concerts on Palladia.  I knew and admired that Bono was really involved with various charities.

A Grateful Letter

Dear Angels Who Watch Over Me,

I just want to say thank you for protecting me this morning when I was hit by an armed bank robber going 100 MPH during a high speed police chase.  I was a little freaked out when I counted 26 police cars whiz by me as I drove to a doctors appointment, and you must have known.  You guided me safely into the right lane where I stopped as more police cars sped past me.

Trapper, Avalanche, & Pure Kindness

I realize my posts lately have been a lot of copying, pasting, and redirecting you all to other sites.  As I am trying to spread awareness for Ehlers Danlos Awareness month, I have also been battling an intense amount of fatigue, tachycardia, headaches, brain fog, neck pain, and have therefore, been honestly having some pretty emotional and frustrating days.  Thus, my posts have been pretty short recently.

…BUT what’s my mantra?  “This too shall pass!”

I have wanted to post about my weekend since Sunday, but I knew it would be best if I waited for my body to start behaving better, so I could actually write coherently.

You Just Never Know…

Written by Katie. Posted in Favorites, Memorable Experiences

You never know who you will meet on any given day.  Better yet, you never know who you will come across that will have an impact on your life.

On the way to Philly my Mom and I sat together on the plane.  You’d think this would be a good thing, but it was not.  I freak her out with my “Oh God’s” “What’s that noise?” “Are we going down?”

On the way home it just so happened that my Mom and I sat apart.  Although I hate to admit this, I usually do better sitting next to someone I do not know, because I feel like I have to hold it together.  I can’t be grabbing on to a stranger’s arm every 2 minutes.  That could get me into big trouble.

The "What NOT to Do" Conclusion

Written by Katie. Posted in Challenges, Favorites, Memorable Experiences

Well, I do have to say that persistence does pay off.  I may have overreacted a lot bit, but not knowing to me is the WORST.  If I know I have something, then I can start to deal with it, but I do not do well with the waiting game.

I did not get a call yesterday and stressed, and cried, and prayed, and slept fitfully throughout the night.  I felt like I was back to the summer and the fall, waiting, and waiting for answers.  Thankfully, this morning I was called with the answer I was looking for.
