1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Session of Acupuncture. I love my doc. Still convinced she is some kind of magical wizard. And I was a skeptic…especially because I did it before in 2010 and HATED it.
  • My first home infusion was a success. I had a nurse friend come over and start my IV. Talk about creativity. The bag of meds was connected to a wire hanger, which we hung from our kitchen ceiling fan. Worked like a charm.
  • 3 Days of Home Rehab. I kicked my a$$ all three times this week. Felt good.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. Had a different PT. We tried out some gadgets for pain control like a posture strap, trigger point gadget for necks, and exercises using two taped tennis balls for trigger points and stability work.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Loving the new treadmill along with my work on the recumbent bike too.
  • Second incredible acupuncture treatment. Second time falling asleep in the middle. Second time waking up to, “All done, Jennifer…Time to wake up, Jennifer!” As long as the treatments are amazing, I’ve decided I can be Jennifer. #maybejenniferwillbebilled #ivetried

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. We have a working treadmill! I hear about so many peeps who hate treadmills, but I love that thing with my whole EDS heart.
  • 1 Day of PT. My left first rib is so messed up, I could barely exercise. Gah. My PT tried his best to work it back into place, and we did stim and heat, but I am wearing my collar as we speak, to try to get it to continue to calm down. My ribs and me. A constant battle. That shall be my book title one day.
  • I had my first acupuncture appointment with Dr. Tan. I fell asleep! I think that is a good sign…I’m going back Thursday, and am going to try weekly for a while.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • Spring break catch up on doctor’s.
  • Thursday we went to Toledo to see Dr. Grubb for my yearly appointment. I am doing well, and only have to take my Propranalol and Midodrine as needed now. Thank you, body. I will take it. I will continue my saline infusions regularly, and take my meds on bad days. I’ve come a long way since when I started in 2010…in a wheelchair. Grateful.
  • I got my stitches out from my cyst removal.
  • Got some lab work done I was putting off.
  • Refilled tons of meds.
  • Scheduled weekly acupuncture for the next month. I’m excited!
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Cardio outside in the SNOW, strengthening exercises inside in the WARMTH.

Five For Friday 3/30/18

1. Medical Stuff:

  • One day of PT. Light walking and bike. Circuit training and OMM.
  • 3 Days of walking the neighborhood with my sisters’s dog, Gru. Floor strengthening and light weights exercises after each walk. A good change up from my usual home rehab.
  • I had a cyst (I’ve had for about five months) removed from the top of my head on Thursday. Always something…Two stitches, some soreness, but my head is flat again ; ) I sure know how to kick off spring break off right! Stitches out on Monday!
  • Insomnia and weird dreams galore. Sigh.
