Five For Friday 9/30/16

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. Cardio. Since my left trap was super sore, we skipped strengthening and I did stim and heat on that area before my PT worked on me.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. The usual.
  • I had two different OMM appointments; one on Tuesday, and one on Friday. Both docs did cranial, and worked on my TMJ and neck pain. On Friday, I got two trigger point injections which has helped quite a bit so far to interrupt the flare. Knock on wood!

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. Elliptical and bike. OMM, stim, and heat. We were trying to get my first ribs and neck to calm down. They have not been happy campers this week.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. Treadmill and floor strengthening. I skipped arms with light weights since I have been pretty flared.
  • I saw my primary care doc on Monday to go over my blood test results. Good news: He used the word “normal.” I’m not used to that word. ;) He also gave me an antibiotic and steroid shot for a sinus infection that’s currently kicking my booty.
  • I also saw the ENT for the first time. I really liked him. I was referred to him to get my deviated septum checked out. From his exam, he doesn’t think it’s necessary for him to do surgery. I am going to try flonase and zyrtec combined with my singulair and advair in hopes that I begin to breathe better. Very happy I do not have surgery in the near future. Yesssss.

It was really tough week. I’m gonna leave it at that. I am thankful it is now the weekend and I have the chance to take a big breather.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. First day back since teaching. It was tough at times, but I was able to push through.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, recumbent bike, light weights, floor strengthening, and the foam roller. You know the drill…
  • I saw my shrink on Wednesday. Much needed. Mental health is JUST as important as physical health. Always.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • No doctors or therapy. It is a tradition that I always clear my schedule the first week of school so my body only has to work through school and nothing else the first week. Next week, it’s back to reality for this zebra. Fingers crossed.
  • I napped everyday. Thank God. I was BEAT.

September! And you know what that means…this girl goes back to work!

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. I worked HARD. Last PT before I have to start going from school again.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • 1 infusion. 2 bags of fluid. I like to call it my “back to school boost.”
