Five For Friday 4/24/15

Written by Katie. Posted in Five For Friday

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT…2 C’s & 1 S: Cardio, cranial, and strengthening.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab.
  • My first yoga class! I modified some, but I was able to do the majority of the class. I am looking forward to learning the poses and physical movements, but what speaks to me the most is the mind/body/spirit connection; learning how to slow down, breathing techniques, truly being present, and learning how to let go. All areas of my life I need work on : )
  • I saw my OMM doc on Thursday. She worked from my toes to the top of my head, to make sure everything was where it’s supposed to be. I also had ear acupuncture again, since I received so many benefits last time.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. We worked my core a lot more because of the recent troubles with my ribs subluxing.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Again, with an extra emphasis on my core, plus cardio, weights, and floor exercises.
  • Zero doctor’s appointments.
  • Insomnia. Enough said. You all know how I feel about that.

Five For Friday 10/11/13

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 3 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I saw Larry in the office on Tuesday. Usually I see him once a month for his “magic hands” OMM and to make sure everything with my health is being managed like it should be. However, Larry has been in Belgium and the Netherlands for the last month as the team doctor for the US (at gymnastics worlds), so it had been two months since my last appointment. And boy, how I have missed him. We had a great appointment going over everything I’ve been up to (start of school, PT, prolotherapy, doctor changes, etc). He did a lot of jaw and cranial work on me as we talked, also acting as my shrink at times; talking about pacing, priorities, and life in general. That man wears many hats in my life.  The best way to explain how I feel after seeing him is it feels easy to breathe again with peace and clarity. I am so blessed he is my doctor and my friend. I have no idea where I would be without him.
