Five For Friday 3/10/17

1. Medical Stuff:

  • It was one of those EDS weeks where my body felt like with one wrong move, it would crumble…but I made it through with a lot of heating pad action.
  • 1 Day of PT. I added some arm exercises and am wondering if it is flaring up my neck. Blah.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. Treadmill intervals and strengthening.
  • 1 needed OMM appointment. LOTS of cranial and rib work.
  • It was back to Toledo on Thursday to see Dr. Grubb and (mostly Bev) or my 6 months POTS check up. It went well; pretty much a maintenance appointment for meds, hydration infusions, and an order for an echo. It was awesome to have Bev back after she had been out for a while with her own medical issues. AND I was seen in RECORD time. My appointment was at 1:30 and I was done by 3:00. That NEVER happens.

\”Stable:\” POTS in Toledo

There’s always an air of excitement when it is time for me to return to Toledo to either see Bev or Dr. Grubb.  I think it’s because it took so long for me to get into them, knowing that they are two of the best Dysautonomia experts in the world.  Call it hope, call it an understanding, call it an appreciation for doctors who care and “get it”…call it what you will, but it never seems like a chore to travel to Toledo to see these two incredible doctors and people.

Topic: What’s something your doctor taught you?

Well, as I am sure it is true for many of you, I have many doctors.  Each one has taught me so much along the way as I have learned to manage both EDS and POTS.  Finding such a great team of doctors did not happen overnight.  It took a lot of travel, a lot of help, and a lot of patience.
