Five For Friday 6/20/14

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 3 Days of Home Rehab: Recumbent Bike, and floor strengthening.
  • Zero doctors and zero physical therapy (my therapist is away right now).
  • I am officially scheduled to see Dr. Lavallee in July! It will be my first time seeing him since he moved from South Bend to York, PA. The road trip will be a lot but I am confident it will be worth it. That man is one of my heroes.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. No PT this week.
  • I had OMM on Thursday for my neck and upper back. My ribs are definitely being stubborn lately about staying put, but my doctor was able to work them back into place. Now, if I could just figure out how to keep them there! (I know, I know. More strengthening).
  • I got a wiggle seat! My physical therapist recommended it; especially for long car rides. It keeps me moving, so my joints don’t stiffen up as much, and it helps with posture, while making me use my core more.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. I had a really rough weekend of rib subluxations, stomach flu, and migraines from EDS neck pain so when I arrived to therapy, I had had it. I immediately burst into tears…It’s been a while since that happened but my amazing therapist was able to calm me (and my pain) down with a stern pep talk about pacing and listening to my body, cranial therapy, and rib OMM.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, balance work, and floor exercises.
  • I have been trying to drink more and more water. I have been feeling so dehydrated lately which does not help my POTS issues.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I saw my OMM doctor this week, which was extremely needed. When all was said and done, I had 6 ribs put back into place, my OA joint in my neck was released, and my sacrum was put back into place. I would be in rough shape without my frequent OMM visits.
  • Talk about being in rough shape without certain doctors. I would be pretty lost without my psychiatrist, Dr. Rosen. We are going on 15 years together, and he has gone through every trial and triumph with me through the years (The good, the bad, and the UGLY). I saw Dr. Rosen on Thursday which was timely said I had a major case of the “all my siblings are far away again” blues. I always explain leaving my visits with him as being able to breathe in and out with clarity. I firmly believe that your body can’t be healthy if your mind is not.
  • I am currently taking a month off of PT to see how I do on my own.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. That number should be higher.

Five For Friday 6/28/13

Most weeks I hope I can get in Five for Friday by the end of the weekend.  This week I am feeling beyond triumphant that I am posting it a day before I am to write the next one…

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • I was gone most of the week so I had zero doctors appointments or physical therapy.  Therefore, rehab was all up to me this week.
  • 2 Days of rehab in the gym at Crystal Mountain.
