Five For Friday 2/21/14

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. I had a really rough weekend of rib subluxations, stomach flu, and migraines from EDS neck pain so when I arrived to therapy, I had had it. I immediately burst into tears…It’s been a while since that happened but my amazing therapist was able to calm me (and my pain) down with a stern pep talk about pacing and listening to my body, cranial therapy, and rib OMM.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, balance work, and floor exercises.
  • I have been trying to drink more and more water. I have been feeling so dehydrated lately which does not help my POTS issues.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I saw my OMM doctor this week, which was extremely needed. When all was said and done, I had 6 ribs put back into place, my OA joint in my neck was released, and my sacrum was put back into place. I would be in rough shape without my frequent OMM visits.
  • Talk about being in rough shape without certain doctors. I would be pretty lost without my psychiatrist, Dr. Rosen. We are going on 15 years together, and he has gone through every trial and triumph with me through the years (The good, the bad, and the UGLY). I saw Dr. Rosen on Thursday which was timely said I had a major case of the “all my siblings are far away again” blues. I always explain leaving my visits with him as being able to breathe in and out with clarity. I firmly believe that your body can’t be healthy if your mind is not.
  • I am currently taking a month off of PT to see how I do on my own.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. That number should be higher.

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT.  I was able to get back on the Reformer after doing my cardio on the Elliptical.  I find that I actually miss that “torture chamber” if I am away for it for more than a week.  I think I have kinda, sorta fallen in love with it.  It works my whole body; especially my core, while being kind to my joints.  Now I just need to figure out how to get in more Reformer sessions during the week.  (I never thought I would say that).

Our 2012 Rehash

Written by Katie. Posted in About Me, Questions

It’s tradition!  Here are our annual reflections…

Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Brad-My 2013 resolution continues to be to exercise consistently, even when life gets busy.

Katie- I like to make goals to work towards instead of resolutions.  I accomplished over half of the goals I set in 2012.  I made 50 more goals for 2013.  I carried some over from 2012.
