Five For Friday 7/25/14

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of Home Rehab.
  • Lots of DC walking. Does that count as rehab? : ) I have a feeling my therapists would say no…
  • No PT or doctors since I was gone.
  • It was an insomnia week. Hoping to get my sleep back on track ASAP.

Five For Friday 5/30/14

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. Graston’s Therapy on my hip, quad, and IT band, plus the usual strengthening.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • Gastroparesis flare. Back on Domperidone until it calms down.
  • 1 shrink appointment. I accidentally scheduled a half hour instead of an hour. What I learned? I need that hour…: )

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of HARD PT. Bill likes the tough love when it comes to strengthening. I’m not complaining…
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I saw Larry on Tuesday. We discussed my unintentional weight loss, and that it’s time to call Dr. Grubb and see if it’s a) because of POTS and b) if so, if I need a Beta Blocker med adjustment. Larry also did his usual (magical) OMM on my ribs, upper back and neck.

Five For Friday 4/25/14

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. That session was no joke. I was feeling well so I asked to be pushed. After the elliptical, we worked my neck, upper back, and core. I was so sore the next day. (The good kind of “sore”).
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, balance work, light weights, abs, scap and glute fires.
  • I saw Larry for my April appointment. He spent a lot of time doing cranial OMM, and putting my ribs back into place. We also talked about using spray and stretch at therapy to help my neck.
  • I saw my shrink on Thursday for an hour. After 15 years, I love that I still have him to talk to, and clear my head with. Like really, really love it. It’s about maintaining clarity and perspective.

Five For Friday 8/23/13

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 4 Days of Home Rehab. Lots of treadmill, and floor work (joint strengthening).
  • I saw Larry on Tuesday for OMM and our monthly office date.  He told me I am going back to good ol’ Physical Therapy in September.  I told him I was managing pretty well on my own, but he reminded me of the shock my body is about to undergo with going back to school.  Knowing he was right, I just smiled and said, “Yes, Larry.”
  • It was a stupid insomnia week.  There’s not much I hate in this world, but not being able to sleep is definitely one of them.
