Five For Friday 5/10/19

  1. Medical Stuff:
  • One day of PT. My hip/back pain has evolved from feeling like EDS pain to an injury pain. We are continuing to work on it with exercises, stim, heat, and OMT. To say I feel frustrated would be putting it mildly. Breathing.
  • I saw my shrink on Monday. Trying to make more time for these appointments. They are so, so important for my overall health.

Five For Friday 11/2/18

1. Medical Stuff:

  • Acupuncture on Monday. Laying on my back that long was uncomfortable. Was one of the only sessions I did not fall asleep.
  • Physical Therapy was Tuesday. I had more energy this week than I have had the last few weeks, which translated in getting a great cardio session in. It is amazing the difference in energy I have, depending if I do PT on Tuesdays vs Thursdays. By Thursday, I am running on fumes.
  • Was at the hospital most of the day Friday for a family member’s surgery. Luckily, all went well, and we will know more results by Wednesday. Prayers up!
  • Walks, walks, and more walks with my sister’s dog. It’s forcing me to get out there and move, I guess : )

Energy Smarts

Written by Katie. Posted in Ehlers-Danlos Awareness, My Creations, Other Appointments, POTS Awareness

I had my monthly Larry appointment today.  At my April appointment, Larry graded my Apollo 13 homework assignment he had given me after I spent my March appointment with him in serious meltdown mode tears about life in general.  After I received my A++, Larry gave me another assignment, which was due today.  My assignment was to show some kind of scale that represented things I COULD do on a 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% energy day.

This assignment was meant to help me reframe my thoughts.  So instead of getting upset and saying something like, “Oh my goodness, it’s a 25% energy day and I can’t dust the house,” I could instead look at it as, “It may be a 25% energy day but I CAN do a load of laundry, some floor exercises, and post on my blog.”
