Five For Friday 10/25/19 & 11/1/19

Written by Katie. Posted in Five For Friday

I just can’t keep up every week! I guess that goes with the Mom life now ; )

1. Medical Stuff:

  • Two PT sessions. Cardio, strengthening (increasing weight and resistance), electrical stim, and Manipulative medicine. The magic combo.
  • Four Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill (trying to increase distance/decrease time each run/walk. It’s getting harder but competing with myself makes the DREADMILL more tolerable).
  • My friend got skin cancer a few years ago. Ever since, I make sure I get a skin mapping every year. Came out clear again, thank God.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • Easy medical week. No appointments. None.
  • My ribs are out. I NEED AN OMT appointment stat. Meanwhile, it’s all about the heating pad…
  • 4 outside walks…just keep moving, just keep moving, just keep moving…

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I had ZERO appointments this week. NONE. Not gonna lie, it was glorious…not getting used to it, but I cannot remember the last time that happened.
  • 2 days of half assed Home Rehab. Must. Do. Better. Gotta dig deep these days to find my energy.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. As hard it was, I admitted to my PT I needed to take it easy. I could tell it was one of those days that if I pushed, I would be in trouble. So we did more OMM, more heat, and more stim.
  • Every night this week, Brad and I walked a mile and a half. It was our goal at the beginning of the week and we did it. Spring weather just makes life so much easier.
  • Blood draw. All good.
  • Home Infusion. Ceiling fan…hanger…bag of meds…All good.
  • Saw my shrink on Thursday. This is a year I have felt pretty broken. He is the most amazing man in helping me figure out the pieces, and understand which ones I want to pick up and put back together.
