Five For Friday 12/8/17

1. Medical Stuff:

  • NO PT this week so I was on my own. 3 Days of HARD Home rehab. I especially upped the intensity on the treadmill and recumbent bike, and you bet I was one sore cookie. But it felt good…and it REALLY felt good to accomplish new goals.
  • I had an OMM appointment on Thursday. I know I need some prolotherapy on my left side, for stabilization, but for right now, rehab and OMM is going to have to do until Brad and I can get to Mishawaka.

Friday the 13th!

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. A lot of rib OMM and cranial work after cardio and strengthening.
  • I’ve been doing various Beachbody exercise programs and I like the variety. I am figuring out how to modify as I go. So far, I have done 21 Day Fix Cardio, 21 Day Fix Pilates, and PiYO Sweat.
  • 3 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I had a procedure done yesterday where I had to be put under. It went well. I am just SORE today, but will be back in action soon. Meanwhile I am getting in some good sleep and a lot of one-on-one time with my heating pad. HOT.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I started my week at the eye doctor with pink eye. What the heck? My second eye infection in a month. The doctor called it “flukey.” Twelve years teaching germy kids and I’ve never had pink eye. Anyways, I’m back on the drops.
  • 1 Day of PT. Mostly cardio and rib OMM.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, recumbent bike, balance work, small weights, and scap strengthening.
  • I saw a new primary care doc on Thursday. It has been really hard for me to find a PCP that gets my “big picture” so fingers crossed this will work out.
  • I saw my OMM doc today. She worked a lot on my left first rib, and inside my mouth on my jaw.

I believe in goals instead of resolutions! Here they are; 2014 style!

  1. Raise more money at this year’s benefit concert than last year’s for invisible illness awareness and research.
  2. Learn how to delegate better.
  3. Visit the Spisak’s in Cincinnati.
  4. See someone new in concert.

My 50 goals for 2013.  It’s Judgement Day…

  1.  Make Life as a Zebra Foundation a 501 3c. Done!
  2. Raise more than $12,500 at our Invisible Illness Benefit on April 13, 2013 for Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation, National Dysautonomia Research Foundation, and Vasculitis Foundation. Yup! We were around $26,000 this year.
  3. Obtain sponsorship for the benefit. We had some awesome sponsors this year.
