Five For Friday 12/15/17

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT with a very stuck thoracic! We got it moving thankfully. Still did cardio and exercises.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. Running and exercises. My foam roller was my bestie afterwards.
  • I had an infusion on Thursday. A big shout out to Chris who works at the hospital for always pretending I’m at the spa. He brings me drinks, food on fancy dishes, and warm pillows and blankets that he uses to “tuck in my piggies.” The people who work at the Sparrow Cancer Center are the best!

1. Medical Stuff:

  • NO PT this week so I was on my own. 3 Days of HARD Home rehab. I especially upped the intensity on the treadmill and recumbent bike, and you bet I was one sore cookie. But it felt good…and it REALLY felt good to accomplish new goals.
  • I had an OMM appointment on Thursday. I know I need some prolotherapy on my left side, for stabilization, but for right now, rehab and OMM is going to have to do until Brad and I can get to Mishawaka.

Thanksgiving edition!

Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. I wrote about it this week after my session: There are days when it’s hard to move. There are days that are just plain painful, when it’s hard to function, and getting out of bed and then to work is a huge victory. There are days where it takes everything I have to get my joints moving and working. Then, there are days I feel STRONG, like I’m a training athlete again. I’m thankful for my body everyday and what it can do, but on those days when I feel like I can kick butt and take names, I try to make sure I soak up every second and express gratitude. With that said, today I’m giving my 7 cardio miles and my strength training a shout out. It felt good, I feel strong, my sore muscles are a blessing and make me feel ALIVE, and I am going to sleep extra grateful tonight.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab.
  • Many walks with my sister’s dog, Gru. That counts for something, right?
