Five For Friday 7/5/19

1. Medical Stuff:

  • Prolo on Monday. Dr. C thinks things got stretched out from labor, and I have since sprained my hip and both SI joints. Prolo in the hip capsule, both SI joints, and groin.
  • 1 Day of PT. OMT only since it was the day after prolotherapy and I felt it was best to give it a chance to work.
  • Lots of time on my trusty heating pad this week.
  • 1 shrink visit. Starting to taper one of my meds. Fingers crossed.
  • 1 Infusion. Had to wait to start while they called my docs since my blood pressure was too low. They determined I was okay enough to do the infusion and thankfully did not have to go anywhere.

  1. Medical Stuff:
  • One day of PT. Because this lower back/hip stuff thinks it can stick around, it was time to get fitted for a soft brace. I need the stability and I finally gave in. Hopefully it will be temporary until I can get stronger and then throw it an drawer. In the meantime, I have a big, black soft brace holding my tummy in. I guess that’s not terrible.

  1. Medical Stuff:
  • Two sessions of PT. Still trying to get my lower back stronger and the pain under control. Labor did a number.
  • Lots of walking in the neighborhood with my home-dawggggg, Gru Gru. I keep trying to add more strengthening and stretching at home but I have not been super successful. It’s a new week!

Five For Friday 2/1/19 & 2/8/19

Yes, two in one again…this is Motherhood. This may be the reality for a while…because when I’m not loving on sweet Lucia, I’m running around the house taking care of other things…and when I get a moment, I just want to sleep…blogging is just not at the top of the list right now.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I made time to see my shrink. Non-negotiable. If I don’t work on keeping my cup full, I will not be able to be the mother I want to be.
  • Still working on the shock of crazy sleep deprivation on my system. Thank God for an amazing husband, and family who lets me nap once in a while.
  • Working on incorporating therapy right now. It’s really, really hard. Like I said, when there is me time right now, I just want to rest.
